Calling all Geeks and Social Network Addicts

Definition of “Geek:”

• Circa 1970 (Merriam-Webster): a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake.
  
  
• Circa 1990 (common usage): a nerd who loves computer code and techie gadgets.
  
  
• Circa 2007 (Wikipedia): an individual who is fascinated by knowledge and imagination, usually electronic or virtual in nature.  Source

Oh how the times have changed.  Today, most people define the word geek as a super cool person who is a computer expert and technology enthusiast.  At least that's how I do.

Geeks are in high demand, especially in churches.  Who are the people setting up the multimedia?  Most likely geeks.  Who's updating the church website,  most likely a geek. Who setup & updates the church facebook fan page? Most likely geeks (what do you mean you still don't have one). Who are the people making millions of dollars from a simple "geeky" idea?  Hello geeks!

Even gansters and cholos are geeks now.  Have you seen them.  It's all good, even if you're straight from the hood.  We need geeks and we love geeks. 

Geeks arise!

With that being said V.E.T.I. is looking for a few good volunteers (Geeks of course) to help grow our social networking influence and impact our world.  You must be creative, be a team-player, have good practical ideas, have a heart for people and have some technical know-how.

You don't need to have a degree or anything of that nature. 

There is also no age bracket. You can be young or "mature".  The only requirement is that you must be geek.

V.E.T.I. is on the cutting edge of Bible training and our leadership press for excellence.   Our primary vision is to equip men & women for the work of the ministry.  However, we are in a new era in urban education.  V.E.T.I. is not only a growing Bible Institute but a gateway into the global Victory Outreach experience. 

We are looking for people with time & talent to assist in the effectiveness and expansion of all of V.E.T.I.'s technological points of interest including our school portal: VetiOnline.com, TheVetiNetwork.com, our facebook fan page, twitter, blogs, audio, etc.  Video and graphics geeks are also welcome.
