  1. Apologetics                                         B105
    The objective of this course is the establishment and deepening of an intelligent faith in the Christian religion and the Bible. Objections to biblical faith by skeptics, agnostics and infidels are met, and alleged discrepancies in the Bible are resolved.

  2. Biblical Counseling                             M209
    This course deals with the requirements, responsibilities and spiritual oversight of a Christian  counselor.  Common counseling issues & challenges will be reviewed as well biblical instruction, essential counseling key points and emphasis on the role of the Holy Spirit.

  3. Book of Acts                                       B102
    An analytical study of the Book of Acts in relation to the purpose, structure and history of the New Testament church. Special emphasis is placed on the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

  4. Book of Hebrews                               B201
    This book consists of a detailed study of the fulfillment of Old Testament types and institutions in the person and work of Christ.

  5. Book of Romans                                 B202
    Romans is one of the most important books in the Bible. Romans is a literature ahead of its time in many critical areas of theological, psychological, social, ethical and of course ecclesiastical reflection.

  6. Christian Ethics                                  C101
    This course is a study of the development of the moral aspects of the Christian’s life. It involves considerations of personal integrity, developing a conscience, and the application of Christian ethics to the personal life and behavior of a Christian. Special consideration is given to the implication of the “Fruit of the Spirit” to one’s life and relationships.

  7. Christian Marriage and Family          C201
    A thorough study of marriage and family from a biblical and theological point of view. Success in marriage is considered to be basic to Christian living and to ministry.  This course should not only help the student who is married, but should be helpful to the student contemplating marriage.

  8. Christian Ministry Practicum             C202
    Study under the supervision of a local minister to give the student exposure to the many facets of the pastoral ministry as well as an opportunity to share in that ministry.

  9. Church Administration                      C102
    An examination of the organization and administration of the church and its departments. These include areas such as responsibility towards missions outreach, Christian Education, church business principles, and relations with the community. The role of the pastor as the administrator is given careful consideration.

  10. Church Growth                                  C203
    A study of denominational and church growth with emphasis placed on problems involved in church growth within Hispanic communities. An overview of methodology and trends is given.

  11. Church History I                                 GE101
    A survey of the major events, persons and theologies of church history from the New Testament church to the Reformation period.

  12. Church History II                                GE102
    A course designed to furnish the student with an understanding of the historical and theological roots of the modern Pentecostal movement, particularly from the Reformation period.

  13. Church History III -  History & Vision of V.O.I.                  GE104
    This course is designed to bring a competent and inspiring panorama overview of the past, present, and future of Victory Outreach International. It focuses on those principles and strategies that have assisted in making Victory Outreach a worldwide movement.

  14. Church Planting                                 C204
    This course will instruct the students in the various ways of starting new churches with emphasis on accountability, working with denominational or church leaders, and hands-on experience. How to survey a community, plans, objectives, and goals will all be discussed as well as the need for commitment, sacrifice, work, faith, and results.

  15. Comparative Religions                      GE203
    A study of origins, fundamental principles, and holy writings of the various religions and cults of the world. This course provides a Christian response to and a well-rounded knowledge of the various beliefs and customs.

  16. Daniel & Revelation                           B203
    An individual and comparative study of the history and prophecies of these two books showing the relationship and role of the Jews and Church in God’s plan with special emphasis on interpretation of the prophetic messages.

  17. Effective Evangelism                         C205
    The Biblical basis for evangelism is studied as well as the individual Christian’s responsibility in spreading the Gospel. Emphasis is placed on Scripture memorization, prayer, evangelism, and programs for the church in community evangelism.

  18. General Epistles                                 B204
    James; I and II Peter; I, II and III John; Jude are studied in relation to their content, interpretation, distinctive teaching, and significance to the canon of the New Testament.


  19. The Gospels                                       B205
    An in-depth look at the four Gospels with a view to establishing a life of Christ. Special emphasis is given to the teachings of Jesus in their historical and contemporary contexts.

  20. Hermeneutics                                     B103
    A study of the science and rules of biblical exegesis and interpretation. This course establishes the principles and methods by which the correct meaning of the Scriptures may be obtained.

  21. Homiletics                                          C104
    A study of the basic elements of public speaking with the purpose of preparing the student in the delivery of sermons. The various forms of sermon preparation and structure will also be studied.

  22. Instructor’s Training Course              C206

    The ITC course prepares students to be effective teachers within the ministry of Victory Outreach through the teaching and practice of course design, assessment creation, grading policy development, and classroom instruction strategies.


  23. Introduction to Christian Education             C207

    This course provides an overview of religious education and the methods and materials to be used in teaching all age groups.

  24. Introduction to Systematic Theology           T104
    This course is designed to give the theology student a general introduction to Christian theology. The student will receive knowledge on the foundational issues for the development of Christian doctrines including: Theology, Bibliology, Theology Proper, The Holy Trinity, Christology, Pneumatology, and Angelology.

  25. Introduction to the Bible                                B101
    This course provides an introduction to the New and Old Testament. General themes will be discussed along with basic historical, literary, and theological aspects of the Bible. Central characters and events of biblical history will also be examined.
  26. Leadership Development I                              C103
    This course is designed to introduce leadership principles that will enhance the spiritual development and formation to a person new to leadership.  Emphasis is placed on the development of servant leadership in the local church.

  27. Leadership Development II
    Prerequisite:  Leadership Development I.  This course builds upon the leadership principles studied in the course, Leadership Development 1.  This course will help students who are already involved in leadership learn how to develop other leaders.  The preparation, practices and process of developing leaders will be examined.

  28. Major Prophets                                  B206
    A study of the books of Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel, including the historical background and the lives and messages of their authors.

  29. Minor Prophets                                  B207
    The study of the books of the Old Testament from Hosea to Malachi. Special emphasis is placed on historical background, structure and prophetic aspects.

  30. Missions                                             U102
    An in-depth look at the Biblical basis for missions and the responsibility of the Christian and the church to carry out the Great Commission. Issues such as methodology, divine call, overseas evangelism, cultural problems and indigenization are discussed with an emphasis placed on Latin America and the Victory Outreach International missions program.


  31. Music Ministries                                 C208
    This course presents an overview of the ministry of music within the church setting. It includes a brief history of the development of church music and emphasizes the leading of worship. Various types of music ministry will be discussed.

  32. New Testament Survey                     B104
    A survey of the literature of the New Testament stressing the major features of each book and emphasizing the practical value of these books in our modern world. In addition to a basic synopsis of each book, special attention is given to the content, chronology, and historical background.

  33. Old Testament Survey                       B105
    A survey of the Old Testament stressing the major features of each book and significance, emphasizing the practical value of these books in our modern world. Special attention is also given to the content, chronology and historical background of each book.

  34. Orientation                                          GE206

    This course is designed to introduce the student to the Academic environment. This course will expose you to the responsibility that the students will be expected to produce and what the student will expect from their instructor.

  35. Pastoral Epistles                                B208
    The exposition of the books of I and II Timothy and Titus. Paul’s instructions to ministers concerning church government are carefully studied.

  36. Public Speaking                                  GE207
    An exploration of communication skills of various types including basic public speaking and general communication principles.

  37. Research & Writing                            GE203

    This course provides a foundation that will teach students how to effectively write papers.  Basic writing and grammar components are reviewed as well as effective research practices.


  38. Spiritual Disciplines                           M102
    A study of the biblical and theological foundations of spiritual formation. The course seeks to establish a sound theological framework for a functioning spirituality within the Pentecostal tradition. Such topics as prayer, worship, community and other such disciplines are considered

  39. Spiritual Gifts                                     C210
    This course provides a brief description of the spiritual gifts mentioned or implied in the Bible. It is designed to help individuals recognize ways in which God has empowered them to build up the body of Christ. The gifts to be discussed fall into two categories: speaking gifts and service gifts.

  40. Spiritual Warfare                               C211
    This course is designed to bring a basic awareness and understanding of Satan’s strategies. The student will learn how to discern whether it’s the devil, the world or the flesh; also, how to war in the Spirit.

  41. Systematic Theology I                       T101
    This course is designed to bring a theological and philosophical understanding of today’s issues that confront Christianity. It is not an in-depth study of theology, but you will obtain a knowledgeable awareness of the essential doctrines of Christianity. This class is part 1 of 3 courses on the topic of systematic theology.  We will cover the nature and need of theology, Bibliology, Theology Proper, Christology, and Pneumatology.

  42. Systematic Theology II                       T102
    This course is designed to bring a theological and philosophical understanding of today’s issues that confront Christianity. It is not an in-depth study of theology, but you will obtain a knowledgeable awareness of the essential doctrines of Christianity.  This class is part 2 of 3 courses on the topic of systematic theology.  We will cover Angelology, Anthropology, and Hamartiology.

  43. Systematic Theology III                      T103
    This course is designed to bring a theological and philosophical understanding of today’s issues that confront Christianity. It is not an in-depth study of theology, but you will obtain a knowledgeable awareness of the essential doctrines of Christianity. This class is part 3 of 3 courses on the topic of systematic theology.  We will cover Soteriology, Ecclesiology, General Eschatology and Individual Eschatology.

  44. Theology in the City                           T201
    An introduction to the theology of the city in the Old Testament and New Testament; a study of the responsibility of the individual, the minister, and the church in its implementation.

  45. Urban Church Planting                      U201
    This course will instruct the students in the various ways of starting new churches in the inner city, working with denominational programs for church planting; discussion on plans, goals and how to survey a community.

  46. Urban Evangelism                              U202
    This course emphasizes evangelistic knowledge and skills in doing personal evangelism, programs and follow-up in the inner city.

  47. Urban Leadership                              U203
    This course focuses on the identification of individual gifts and talents that persons may possess and the training of those individuals for various urban ministries. Styles of urban leadership are considered.

  48. Urban Ministries                                 U101
    This course explores the current problems of urban society and the challenge these urban realities present to churches with explicit attention to the biblical and theological foundation for urban ministry.


  49. VETI Educational Practicum             GE208
    The studying under the supervision of a local minister to give the student exposure to the many facets of the pastoral ministry as well as an opportunity to share in that ministry

  50. Youth Ministries                                M204
    An analysis of the church’s ministry to youth, emphasizing organization, administration, and methodology. Also discussed are the needs and problems facing youth in the church today.
